About the role

As an Embedded software field engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining embedded software for our energy management applications. You’ll work closely with our cloud engineers, fellow embedded developers, and customers to build new features, troubleshoot issues, and enhance our system’s security. Since this role is customer-facing, you’ll also be in direct contact with clients, helping them integrate and optimize our technology and act as second-line customer support.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded software using Rust for energy management applications.

  • Collaborate with our cloud engineers, your fellow embedded software engineers, and our clients to build new features and debug issues.

  • Work on communication protocols like Modbus and P1 for real-time energy data acquisition.

  • Make our controller super secure against cyberattacks.

  • Support installations across the Netherlands, with potential expansion to European sites in the future.

  • Second-line customer support.

Skills & requirements

  • Proficiency in Rust (must-have).

  • Degree in Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.

  • Hands-on experience in embedded software development.

  • Passionate about tackling global warming and optimizing energy systems.

  • Willing to travel across the Netherlands and, in the future, Europe to support installations

  • Proficient in English

  • Big bonus: Experience with Modbus and P1 protocols.

  • Big bonus: Strong understanding of Linux-based embedded systems.

  • Big bonus: Prior experience in security implementation for embedded systems.

  • Big bonus: Knowledge of electronics, such as PCB design.

  • Big bonus: Deep knowledge about IP networking.

  • Big bonus: Understanding of control theory.

  • Big bonus: Proficient in Dutch.

Compensation
